Macclesfield FC: Pre-Season Friendlies Schedule 2022/23

After being crowned champions of the North West Counties Premier Division, the Silkmen look to prepare for the next chapter within their new era, in the coming months.

Currently, there are ten friendly matches that Macclesfield are set to take part in, ahead of the 2022/23 season.

Macclesfield is set to kick off their pre-season campaign on the 2nd of July, as the Silkmen travel to The Mike Riding Ground to face Longbridge Town FC. At the time of writing, this is the only pre-season game that will take place away from home for Danny Whitaker's side.

Three days later on the 5th of July, the Silkmen will welcome Crewe Alexandra to The Leasing.com Stadium. Crewe finished bottom of League One last year and are preparing now for next season's League Two. This is set to be a good test for Whitaker's side, as of course, the Football League is where Macclesfield are looking to bring themselves back to.

The 9th of July will see Macclesfield host League One Side, Morecambe, who just about escaped relegation last season. Then on the 12th of July, Championship side West Brom, are going to send a squad to Macclesfield to face the Silkmen. It is unclear at this stage how many of the Baggies' senior players will participate in this fixture, yet an exciting test for Whitaker and his men nonetheless.

A local derby is then set to take place at The Leasing.com Stadium, as Macclesfield FC host Buxton FC on the 16th of July. Buxton are the current champions of the Northern Premier League and are preparing for their 2022/23 campaign in the National League North. Matlock Town are then set to visit the Silkmen on the 19th of July, as they look to bounce back from their recent defeat to Scarborough Athletic in the Northern Premier League Play-Offs.

A second high profile friendly fixture for Macclesfield will take place on the 21st of July against Huddersfield Town. By this date, Huddersfield could officially be a Premier League team, depending on their performance in the upcoming Championship Play-Offs which are set to begin in two days.

The Silkmen's final three pre-season fixtures are set to take place at home against Chorley (26th July), Blackpool (28th July) and FC United of Manchester (2nd August). Macclesfield FC will begin their 2022/23 league campaign in the Northern Premier League West Division on the 13th of August.
